Epic Shit On The Internet

Inaugural Post

Welcome to the sister community of our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1609208522720053/

If you've been missing LJ, and want to do something instead of just complaining about it on Facebook, we're here and we're doing something about it.

Consider this community an ongoing Friending Frenzy™ -- here you will find active LJers who want new friends and are going to fill up your friends feed with actual entries of substance and not just angry political memes and pictures of cats.

Only one rule - be nice or be gone. Anyone stirring shit will be made to lick the spoon.

Hey there, y'all! :)

Hi everyone! I'd like to add friends who are active & like interacting & getting to know your friends list. :)

About Me:

- I'm a blonde bubbly 45 y/o who's finally getting out of her comfort zone & exploring/traveling the city & going to music shows, especially rock n roll!

- I love cats & have 2 boys, whom I love.

- Mama to a beautiful 8 year old daughter.

- I enjoy photography, music of almost every kind, traveling, outdoor activites, surfing the web, reading on my Kindle & many other hobbies. Harely Davidson cycles & hot rod/muscle cars with a hot man on/in them make me drool!

- I'm single though since April 2018, I've been involved in a FWB with a lucious man. Hehe....👅

- I'm a cat volunteer at a local animal shelter. I do this about 3 times a week.

- I reside in Sin City, baby! Vegas Strong!

- I suffer from a few forms of mental illnesses, though I rarely write about it.

- I post various photos in my journal. Especially of my cats & random selfies & weight loss transition.

- TV shows I enjoy are The Golden Girls, Game of Thrones, Old Skool Scooby Doo & Forensic Files to name a few.

If you'd like to know more, feel free to read my profile!

Hope to make your acquaintance. :D

Looking for fresh faces

Hi everyone! I'd like to add friends who are active & like interacting & getting to know your friends list. :)

- I'm single though since April 2018, I've been sexually involved with a hot man. I sometimes write about our escapades but not the personal sexual stuff, of course. 👅

- I'm a cat volunteer at a local animal shelter. I do this about 3 times a week.

- I've taken on a temporary cashier position at a C-store to help pay bills & aquire my Driver License, a feat I feel will give me a lot more freedom to travel the U.S.A.

- I reside in Sin City, baby! Vegas Strong!

- I suffer from a few forms of mental illnesses, though I rarely write about it.

Looking for new friends!

I've posted here once or twice before, but figured I'd give it another go-around.

Name: Under friends lock.

Age: 30s.

Location: Maryland, United States.

Describe yourself in five sentences or less. Nerdy, but not terribly geeky. I like talking about the deeper things in life, but with a sense of humor when possible. Cautious optimist. Hufflepuff to a fault.

Top 5 fandoms. Harry Potter, Parks and Recreation, The Good Place, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Harry Potter's really the only one of those I've done a lot of "fannish" things, though, but I love all of them and talking about them. Among other things.

I mostly post about: Observations (whether things I can't believe people do, social media, etc.), meta (whether specific to a show or book, or more broad), writing (either about writing or my own writing). I also occasionally post real life anecdotes.

I rarely post about: Although I talk about "real life", this DW isn't super RL heavy Also, while I sometimes post about politics (I'm left of center, or centrist left, however you look at it), I don't talk about it frequently.

My last three posts were about: A bizarre experience at work, thoughts on fanfic I wrote when I was younger and how I wish the fandom were more active now that my writing's better, a former work project.

How often do you post? It varies, but typically at least once every 2-3 days.

How about commenting? I comment when I have something to say. I'm much better at commenting on conversational posts; I'm not always good at commenting on bullet point posts. I try to be good at interacting with my friends, though.

Subscription/Access Policy: The usual.
GardenProduce

I Suck at Subject Titles, But Hi There!

Hi, I'm Alexander. Any gardeners out there? If so, I'd really like to meet you. Last spring, I fulfilled a dream and moved into a small farming village along with my partner and have a house with a garden. I found gardening and growing my own produce is an absolute passion of mine. My f-list is a bit quiet these days and not many people are into gardening, so I'd like to have a few more friends who are interested, to learn about how others do things, hopefully inspire each other, talk shop and so on.

I post about two, three times a week. Once a week I do a photo-heavy post where I document the progress in the garden, what I did, what went wrong, what went right (everything's under a cut, natch), and once, twice a week I talk about life, things going on in general, and rural life in a tiny village in Germany. I have lots of other interests too, and those are listed in my profile if you're curious. The main focus these days, though, is on the above topics, plus harvesting and preserving when the time comes, recipes (I'm also quite into cooking and baking), recs for good things I found, and a number of other random topics as they come up. I do paid work from home too, but seldom talk about it since...let's face it, nobody's work is all that interesting to others, right?

My LJ is a happy, life-affirming place (I hope) and since everyone has this or that problem cropping up now and then, I may vent here and there but usually bounce back pretty quickly. I also comment regularly and like friends who do the same, since I enjoy the interaction on LJ and making friends, not just having an audience or racking up numbers.

So if you're into gardening and/or homesteading, even if it's just theoretically, or we have other things in common, don't hesitate to hop on board and feel welcome.

Giving it another try

I know I did my initial post sometime back last year, which...didn't seem to garner much attention. I'm still working away at my journal lo, these many years later, and trying to get back to a more regular posting schedule after about a three month hiatus. The vast majority of the entries are public, so feel free to peruse.

It does seem a shame that almost everyone on my friends list has either chicken littled out, or simply faded away. I'm really missing some of those folks. Maybe there's new ones around the corner. Who knows. I'll keep plugging away.
